Halloween =)

My mom's birthday is on Halloween!

A Deafening Silence

Everyday I get to NJIT early in the morning and read blogs for an hour. I always pass by Newark Penn Station but quickly take the lightrail to school. On Friday I decided to sit around Penn Station and draw people. What a brilliant idea! It's the best, people are standing, they are gritty because it's Newark, it's cold so they have cool clothes on... Awesome. I had fun for an hour and a half. I'm going to make this a habit. This is the result.

Throwback of the Day

I used to take the bus everyday last winter to art class. I started carrying a small sketchbook and studying fast sketching [see it here] and finally wasn't afraid of drawing complex visual fields.

Here's something from the vault:

Sketches

I had about 20 pages of sketches I was feeling pretty good about but none of them will be shown here today. Instead, here are some quick life drawings from the past few days.

Sketching in Class

I did these a week or so ago after reading parts of this online text on sketching for animators. You can find it on my space: Gesture Drawing For Animation by Walt Stanchfield (8.6 mb).
